IndividualTeamCustomer

Reading the current

If you have been following this series, you know the cascade as one connected system. Individual success builds into team success. Team success shows up in what the customer receives to help them succeed.

Zoom in, and it rarely moves that way.

Across different organizations, industries, business sizes and roles, I have seen the same pattern. High growth with more to deliver and a very tight room to do it. A company finding its operational footing for the first time. Departments working toward the same goals with very different levels of clarity and structure.

In each case, I could see the current moving. Not at the same pace. Not at the same speed across every part of the organization. But moving.

Different currents running simultaneously is not a sign something is broken. It is the normal state of any organization where people are part of the system. Perfection is rarely the goal. Coherence is.

The cascade does not change that reality. It makes it intentional. It gives the manager a way to see where the current is strong, where it needs support, and how each part connects to what the customer ultimately receives.

The manager who understands this does not try to bring everything to the same speed. They read the current in their portion. They strengthen it where it is weak. And they keep it connected to the rest.

From above it looks like one system. Zoomed in, it is multiple currents. The work is learning to read them.

Reading the current across different parts of the organization is one of the clearest moments where the Success Cascade, when present, delivers.

This sounds idealistic. It isn't. This is the work I do. The conversation starts with listening, not presenting.

Let's see if this fits.
